Analysis.

The 'zodiac' opening sequence establishes a sense of mystery with the credits turning into a blend of symbols-seemingly out of place with the slightly warm glow of the shots as the ordinary morning routine of a father and son is portrayed.
The film is based on a true-story of the notorious serial killer known as 'The Zodiac Killer', through this the yellowish effect can be seen as a sepia, vintage style effect, connoting the idea of passed time.

From the very first second of the film we are asking questions. '4 weeks later- San Francisco CA' appears on screen, but 4 weeks after what?. The location also must have more meaningful significance since it's not usual for an establishing shot to show the location
